Art History can be interpreted not only by reading, and writing about the art and artist but by looking closely to the art process the artist used in creating their artwork. Students were studying about Albrecht Durer, which was known as the greatest artist of the Renaissance in Northern Europe. I wanted the students to focus on his detailed pencil drawings. They could choose one of his art pieces to sketch a detail area from the original that interested them. One of the iPad apps that has over 100 drawings by this artist is Drawings: Albrecht Durer.
